AST – Santarcangelo dei Teatri Archive

The Santarcangelo dei Teatri documentation archive is a fundamental resource for understanding, reconstructing, and deepening knowledge of the important theatrical experience in Santarcangelo and, through it, a key part of the history of Italian theater in recent decades. It collects a vast collection of archival materials documenting the entire fascinating history of the Santarcangelo theater festival.

festival guardare non è più un atto da innocente
In 1994, the documentary and administrative archive of the Festival was directly acquired by the Municipality of Santarcangelo, which entrusted its protection, management, and enhancement to the municipal library. Subsequently, IBACN carried out a reorganization and prepared a systematic inventory list of the archive’s materials, some of which have been partially incorporated and are accessible in the catalog of the A. Baldini library.

The Antonio Baldini Library is also an important center for the study and preservation of Romagnol dialect poetry, connected to the Santarcangiolese School, whose main figures are Tonino Guerra, Gianni Fucci, Nino Pedretti, and Giuliana Rocchi.

Ancient Books Collection

The Collection includes approximately 3,400 printed works dating from the 15th to the 19th century, mostly theology, philosophy, and law. The historical core consists of books from the bequest of Felice Teodoro Grazj (1769) and from the suppressed convent of the Conventual Franciscan Friars of Santarcangelo.
