Archive of the Workers’ Mutual Aid Society of Santarcangelo di Romagna

The archive material has recently been fully organized and catalogued. Documentation on the Society’s first fifty years (second half of the 19th century) is almost non-existent. For consultation, please contact the Workers’ Mutual Aid Society of Santarcangelo.

I. BOOK COLLECTION – consists of about 800 works including books, pamphlets, and periodicals from the 19th and 20th centuries.
II. ACHILLE FRANCHINI COLLECTION – (surgeon and politician, 19th–20th century) – consists of about 812 works, documents, and periodicals almost exclusively medical in nature.
III. CARLO ANTONIO CARLINI COLLECTION – (archpriest of S. Maria di Cevola) – consists of 465 papers including letters, memoirs, lists, and payment receipts from the 19th century.
IV. CARLO CARLINI COLLECTION – (apiculture expert, school teacher, president of the Workers’ Society for over 40 years) – 45 large folders of documents on beekeeping, social and political activity, books and periodicals, photographic material, maps, etc.

San Michele Arcangelo Archive

Archivio San Michele Arcangelo

Located at the Collegiate Church of Santarcangelo, built between 1744 and 1758 by architect G.F. Buonamici and dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary. It houses true artistic treasures, including a wooden organ decorated in late Rococo style by Gaetano Callido (1779).

The archive holds baptism and marriage records (1565–1900), death registers (1598–1863), parish censuses, and numerous volumes from the 1500s to 1800s on medicine, sciences, literature, and music. An appointment is required for consultation.
